Amit & Jenita's Engagement - Aug 2010

Amit and Jenita are such a great couple! Their engagement was in August 2010 in
Ashton under Lyne, we had the pleasure of getting to photograph their engagement session in Bharti Mandal - A-U-L. We also went to Stamford Park to take some great couple shots which were perfect for their personalities.

They are such a playful, fun loving couple and their photos show how much in love they are!

Check out here few shots on their Engagement :)

Blackpool & Alton Towers Photography :)

What does a little touring family do when given a day off, That’s me on the left.

I had a brilliant day on 6th September 2010, I spent my whole  time with my mum and family members. Below are my favourite shot for the day ;)

The Alton Tower park, the main attraction - other high octane excitements such as Rita, Nemesis, Air and Oblivion (4 times) gave us just about all the fun we could take.

The weather was good but after 4:15pm it started getting worse ;) so we ate burgers in the rain and wore regulation plastic ponchi.

Enjoy the pics ;)

HDR - High Dynamic Range Pictures of Prakash Bhalsod

HDR: HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE PHOTOGRAPHY

High dynamic range (HDR) images enable photographers to record a greater range of tonal detail than a given camera could capture in a single photo. This opens up a whole new set of lighting possibilities which one might have previously avoided—for purely technical reasons. The new "merge to HDR" feature of Photoshop allows the photographer to combine a series of bracketed exposures into a single image which encompasses the tonal detail of the entire series.

There is no free lunch however; trying to broaden the tonal range will inevitably come at the expense of decreased contrast in some tones. Learning to use the merge to HDR feature in Photoshop can help you make the most of your dynamic range under tricky lighting—while still balancing this trade-off with contrast.

Below are few samples of my HDR Images.

Setting white balance

If you have a digital camera you will most probably have seen the “white balance” or “WB” button, but what is it? In a nutshell if the human eye looks at a sheet of white paper in the morning it looks white because our eye adjusts to white automatically but the camera will see the paper as having a blue cast

If the same bit of paper was held up in front of our eye at lunchtime and again at sunset our eye still compensates and sees the paper as white but not so with the camera. So you can set your camera at “auto white balance” which takes an average only and is most of the time incorrect.

You can change to the little icons for “sun” “shade” “incandescent” “fluro” or “night” all of these are ok but nowhere as good as setting the exact white balance for the light you are in. Go to set white balance if your camera has it – say yes, then aim your camera at a piece of white paper filling the whole frame (you may have to turn of the auto focus) press the shutter release (like taking a photo) and it will be “set” just for where you are now – if you move to another area you would have to change is again.

It is important to note that when you set your white balance all the colours in your photo will be correct and without colour cast even if your subject is standing right next to a yellow wall.

Photographing Friends / Family

One of the most difficult things to do being a professional photographer is photograph your own friends and family members!

I just never get around to doing it, even though I’ve got a fully kitted equipments. And when I’m actually doing friends/family stuff I want to enjoy being there doing it rather than having the pressure of getting “great shots”, plus having to lug around all of the equipment. Trust me when you have 2 bodies and about 6 lenses there is just no way you can take just one out.

In June, I did organise an even "Dar Get Together in Brighton" photographing few friends in Brighton.

We all really had fun together and below are some of my shots.
